Kim Chung-ha (born Kim Chan-mi) is a South Korean singer, dancer, songwriter, and choreographer. She finished fourth in Mnet's girl group survival show Produce 101, becoming a member of the resulting girl group I.O.I. Following the disbandment of I.O.I in 2017, she debuted as a solo artist with Why Don't You Know on June 7.

Chungha was born in Seoul, South Korea. In her childhood she went back and forth from Korea to Dallas, Texas. As a result, she is able to speak both English and Korean. She graduated from Sejong University, majoring in dance. She trained for three years before debuting, and had been dancing for 6–7 years. She revealed that she almost quit attending dance classes at some point due to financial issues.Prior to her debut she had a lot of part time jobs, she has said that if it weren't for produce 101 and i.o.i she would not have kept training.
